Introduction / Scope

This Privacy Policy explains how RTM Innovation handles information in Woolly, including the Android version distributed through Google Play.

1. Photos and images you choose

Woolly allows you to choose an image from your camera, photo library, or device files in order to turn that image into a knitting model.

The selected image is processed locally on your device. Woolly uses the image to calculate a simplified knitting pattern, including stitch placement and yarn colors.

RTM Innovation does not upload the original image to an RTM Innovation server as part of this feature, and RTM Innovation does not receive or store the original selected image on its servers.

2. Locally stored Woolly data

Woolly stores certain information locally in the application's private storage on your device so that your work and progress remain available between sessions.

This may include:

  • knitting models generated from images you selected;
  • model configuration, stitch, color, and shape information;
  • information about models you have completed;
  • advertising frequency and rewarded-ad state used by Woolly.

The generated knitting model is stored as structured model data rather than as a copy of the original selected photograph.

This locally stored Woolly content is not transmitted to an RTM Innovation server as part of the core model-generation and progress functionality.

3. Advertising

Woolly uses Google AdMob / Google Mobile Ads to display advertisements, including banner, interstitial, and rewarded advertisements.

The Google Mobile Ads SDK may automatically process information such as IP address, device or advertising identifiers, app interactions, advertising interactions, and diagnostic or performance information. An IP address may also be used to estimate the general location of a device.

Google and its advertising partners may use this information for purposes including advertising, ad delivery, measurement, analytics, security, and fraud prevention.

Data handled by the Google Mobile Ads SDK is subject to Google's own privacy and data-processing practices.

4. Rewarded advertising

Woolly may offer optional rewarded advertisements. If you choose to watch a rewarded advertisement to completion, Woolly may grant an in-app benefit such as a temporary period without interstitial ads.

Woolly stores the resulting reward state locally on your device.

5. Analytics and crash reporting

Woolly does not currently use Firebase Analytics, Google Analytics, Firebase Crashlytics, Sentry, or a separate first-party analytics or crash-reporting service operated by RTM Innovation.

Google Mobile Ads may independently process diagnostic, performance, and interaction information as part of its advertising services, as described above.

6. Internet access and third-party services

Woolly requires internet access for services such as advertising.

Woolly currently uses or may rely on the following third-party technologies:

  • Google AdMob / Google Mobile Ads for advertising;
  • Google Fonts for application typography where required by the application configuration;
  • Android system services for image, camera, gallery, and file selection.

Third-party providers may process information according to their own terms and privacy policies.

7. Camera, photo library, and files

Woolly accesses camera, photo-library, or file-selection functionality only when you choose to use the relevant image-import feature.

Woolly does not use these features to continuously monitor your media library or files.

8. Accounts and profile information

Woolly does not currently require you to create an RTM Innovation or Woolly user account.

Woolly does not ask you to provide profile information such as your name, email address, phone number, postal address, or password as part of its current core gameplay.

9. Data retention and deletion

Data created by Woolly and stored locally on your device remains there until it is deleted through available app controls, replaced, cleared, or the application data is removed from the device.

User-created Woolly models can be deleted from within Woolly using the available delete controls.

Because Woolly does not currently use online user accounts, there is no Woolly online account to delete.

Removing Woolly or clearing its application data generally removes locally stored Woolly data from that device, subject to any backup or device-transfer functionality independently provided by the operating system or platform provider.

10. Security

RTM Innovation designs Woolly so that the core photo-to-knitting-model conversion occurs locally on the device rather than by uploading the selected photo to an RTM Innovation server.

Third-party network services used by Woolly are responsible for the security of data they process under their own systems and policies. Google states that data collected by the Google Mobile Ads SDK is encrypted in transit using Transport Layer Security (TLS).

11. Children's privacy

Woolly does not currently require users to provide a name, email address, phone number, date of birth, or similar profile information in order to use its core functionality.

If you are a parent or guardian and believe that information relating to a child has been handled in a way that requires attention, please contact RTM Innovation using the privacy contact information below.

12. International processing

Third-party services such as Google AdMob may process information in countries other than the country in which you live. Their processing is governed by their own privacy terms and applicable legal safeguards.

13. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when Woolly's features, third-party services, legal requirements, or data practices change.

The effective date at the top of this page will be updated when material changes are made.
