Wooligan Privacy Policy

Introduction / Scope
This Privacy Policy explains how RTM Innovation handles information in the Android version of Wooligan distributed through Google Play.
1. Information you create in Wooligan
Wooligan allows you to create and manage knitting-related information such as projects, yarn records, row counters, pattern information, shape and measurement data, notes, and app settings. You may also choose to import pattern files, images, PDFs, or a project cover image.
This content is stored in Wooligan's private application storage on your device. RTM Innovation does not operate a server or cloud-sync service that receives this user-created content, and we do not have access to it.
2. Android device backups
If Android backup is enabled on your device, Android may include Wooligan's locally stored application data in a backup associated with your Google Account or transfer that data to another device during Android's device-transfer process.
This backup functionality is provided and controlled by Android and your Google Account settings. RTM Innovation does not receive or have access to these backups.
3. Advertising
The free version of Wooligan uses Google AdMob to display banner and interstitial advertisements.
Google Mobile Ads may process information such as IP address, device or advertising identifiers, app interactions, diagnostic information, and other information necessary for advertising, measurement, analytics, and fraud prevention.
Where required by applicable law, Wooligan uses Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP) to request and manage advertising consent before ads are requested. Users in applicable regions can revisit their privacy choices through the Privacy Options control available in the app.
Advertising services are provided by Google and are subject to Google's own privacy and data-processing practices.
4. In-app purchases
Wooligan may offer a Pro unlock through Google Play Billing.
Purchases are processed directly by Google Play. RTM Innovation does not receive or store your payment card details, billing address, or other payment credentials.
Wooligan receives only the purchase status needed to determine whether Pro features should be enabled and stores the resulting entitlement state locally on your device.
5. Pattern text recognition
Wooligan may use Google ML Kit Text Recognition to extract text from pattern images or PDF content selected by you.
Text recognition is performed on-device. Wooligan does not upload your pattern images or extracted text to an RTM Innovation server for this purpose.
6. Analytics and crash reporting
Wooligan does not currently use Firebase Analytics, Google Analytics, Crashlytics, Sentry, or any other first-party analytics or crash-reporting service.
Google Mobile Ads may independently process diagnostic and interaction information as part of its advertising services, as described above.
7. Permissions
The Android version of Wooligan uses internet access for services such as advertising and Google Play purchase processing.
Wooligan does not request access to your location, microphone, camera, contacts, or notifications as part of the current Android release.
Files and images that you choose to use in Wooligan are selected through Android's system file picker.
8. Data retention and deletion
The information you create in Wooligan remains in the app's local storage until you delete it, replace it, or remove the app.
Wooligan provides controls for deleting individual projects, patterns, yarn records, row counters, and other supported app content.
Wooligan does not use user accounts, so there is no online account to delete.
Removing Wooligan from your device generally removes its local app data from that device. Data that Android has independently included in a Google Account backup may remain subject to your Android and Google Account backup settings.
9. Children's privacy
Wooligan does not currently require users to create accounts or provide age, name, email address, phone number, or similar profile information.
The current Android release does not include an age-verification system or child-directed advertising configuration.
10. Third-party services
Wooligan currently relies on certain third-party services, including:
- Google AdMob / Google Mobile Ads for advertising
- Google User Messaging Platform for advertising privacy and consent
- Google Play Billing for in-app purchases
- Google ML Kit Text Recognition for on-device text recognition
These services may process information according to their own terms and privacy policies.
11. Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when Wooligan's features, third-party services, legal requirements, or data practices change. The effective date at the top of this page will be updated when material changes are made.
